Achoo, Part Two
The wildlife agent sounded skeptical when I asked if I could legally trap or kill the fisher that probably killed Achoo the kitten. A fisher? I told him I'd take pictures to show him if I catch it.
Because it's a fur-bearing game animal, it can only be trapped in season and with a license. But I could live-trap it on my property and release it elsewhere with permission of the property owner.
Tractor Supply was having a closeout on live traps, a two-for-one deal. So far, I've caught four raccoons, a beagle, and the neighbor's cat. No sign of the fisher, or whatever it is. I don't know whether they're territorial or nomadic; maybe it's run out of cats it can catch in the neighborhood and moved on.
